Coral Eye Resort

Coral Eye is a unique dive resort on Bangka Island, North Sulawesi. Originally founded as an outpost for marine studies, today Coral Eye Bangka is a melting pot of passionate travelers, dive enthusiasts, underwater photographers and marine biologists.

Click here to learn more about Coral Eye directly from their website.

Coral Eye has a number of initiatives in place to ensure that the resort is eco-friendly and sustainable.

Situated on a white sandy beach, the resort has an abundant house reef which is easily accessible from the resort’s pier. The easy atmosphere and warm, friendly service will ensure that you feel at home in this beautifully designed and comfortable accommodation.

Eight rooms are located on the first floor of the main building, where the smooth wooden floors mean you can enjoy barefooted luxury. The Sea View Room and the Garden Villa’s rooms are detached from the main structure, providing guests with more privacy.

The minimal furniture lends itself to a sense of less-is-more living.

Bangka Island

Situated between the Celebes Sea and the Molucca Sea, in the northern province of Sulawesi, Bangka Island lies in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the global epicenter of marine biodiversity.

Bangka is a tiny island rich with forests, mangroves, coconut plantations, pristine beaches and rocky outcrops situated just off the northern tip of North Sulawesi in between Bunaken Marine Park and Lembeh Strait. The Bangka archipelago is made up of several islands, including those of Gangga and Talisei.

With an area of 4,700 ha, Bangka hosts about 2,000 people distributed in the three main villages. The local economy is mainly based on fishing, agriculture and in recent years also on tourism.

There are no roads on the island, but it is possible to trek through the jungle to visit the fishing village of Lihunu, or walk along the beach and reach the small village of Busa Bora.

The absence of shops, banks, offices and restaurants make it the perfect place to disconnect from the busy world, immersing yourself in an atmosphere out of other times.

Our practice

YOGA

Enjoy a daily dose of yang with a splash of yin—all before breakfast. Each morning we offer a yoga-flow combining asana, pranayama breathing, and meditation. Our yoga shala overlooks the white sandy beaches of Bangka, with the backdrop of a sky blue horizon. You’ll find yourself calmed by the rhythmic sounds of the waves against the shore. Carefully tailored to each group, these morning sessions are designed to prepare your mind, body for our daily freediving excursions.

AGUA VIVA BODYWORK

With origins in Watsu (WATer shiatSU), Liquide Flow Essence and Water Healing Dance our therapist offers a form of aquatic bodywork that allows for deep relaxation. During this practice, you will be gently guided through the water. Each one-on-one session invites spontaneous healing through intuitive movements all influenced by the constant motion of the sea.
